Peace on a windy lake

Across the lake
Jesus and his disciples went across the lake in a boat. Other boats were with them. Jesus rested in the stern on a cushion.
Wind and waves
A strong windstorm rose. Waves beat into the boat, and the disciples became afraid. They woke Jesus and asked for help.
Be still
Jesus rebuked the wind and told the sea to be still. The wind stopped, and there was a great calm.
A question to carry
Jesus spoke to the disciples about fear and faith. They wondered who he was, that even the wind and sea obeyed him. Asking for help had been part of their story.
