The welcome home
Luke 15:11–32 · Retold for children
A son leaves home
Jesus told a story of a younger son who asked for his share of the family property. He went far away and wasted it.
A change of heart
When hard times came, the son was hungry and alone. He decided to go home, admit his wrongdoing and ask to become a hired worker.
Running to welcome
While the son was still far away, his father saw him and ran to meet him. The son confessed, and his father welcomed him with joy.
Room at the celebration
The older son was angry about the celebration. The father went out to him too. He invited him to share the joy that his brother had come home.
