Daniel keeps praying
Daniel 6 · Retold for children
A faithful worker
Daniel served in a kingdom far from the home of his childhood. Other officials could find no dishonesty in his work, but they wanted to trap him.
A difficult rule
A new law said people could pray only to the king for a time. Daniel kept praying to God as he had before. He did not hide his faith to please the officials.
A night with lions
Daniel was put into a den of lions. The king was troubled and came early the next morning. Daniel answered that God had sent an angel to shut the lions’ mouths.
Faithfulness remembered
Daniel was brought out safely. The king spoke of the living God. This story tells of Daniel’s trust; it is never an invitation to go near dangerous animals.
