Mark 10:13–16 · Retold for children
Families come near
People brought little children to Jesus so that he might touch them. The disciples tried to send the people away.
Jesus notices
Jesus saw what was happening and was displeased. He told the disciples to let the little children come and not to hinder them.
A welcome for children
Jesus said that God’s kingdom belongs to such as these. Children were not too small or too unimportant to be welcomed.
A blessing
Jesus took the children in his arms, laid his hands on them and blessed them. His welcome reminds us to make room for people who are easily overlooked.
